dTUNE is a simple, powerful plugin but it can be described as a little bit like a mixing panel for your plugin – it boosts the low end, adds overtones and harmonics, removes sibilance and adds more bass to your sound without destroying the original sound. Examples: Remove sibilance A noise suppression plugin can make a lot of difference to a sound and remove a lot of unwanted noise. But it can mask important details if not properly applied. dTUNE is a low-pass or high-pass filter that will pass only some frequencies from your source wave to your output. If you have more than one oscillator, you can control the filter in the plugin between each oscillator or by using the sweep-able bandpass filter. Add some strong harmonics and overtones Harmonics and overtones are usually added to the sound by plugins using the oscillator as an additive synth. Here dTUNE will do the job of an oscillator – by splitting the incoming signal and adding two different sine waves – one slightly up and the other slightly down shifted – and effectively adding harmonic/overtones. In the demonstration video you can hear how this works. And if you want to make a gated reverb sound like in the demo video, you can easily alter the filter settings to make it more or less locked. Easily add some experimental tones By adjusting the Amount value you can make dTUNE introduce new frequencies – a filter slope will affect these new frequencies. The closer the amount is to zero, the closer they will be to the original frequency and the softer the filter will be. But if you make the amount close to one, all those frequency will be added to the original frequency and you will have a more full and also more noisy sound. Lowering the Amount will make dTUNE more fatter and lower the frequency, leaving the volume static. However, dTUNE won’t make something wider unless the Amount is close to 0.5 or greater. This is the same for a normal resonance and you would use a different resonance plugin for that. Dirty sizings (0.5 – 1.0) Sometimes the frequency band you want to target needs some adjustments. dTUNE does this with a sweepable band pass filter. The lower the Amount is, the lower and the wider the filter will be, which will allow for more frequency to go through – as long as that frequency is still within
